Save The Date: National African American Hepatitis C Action Day
Hepatitis C is a silent epidemic. On July 25th, 2017 we will join the National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable (NVHR) and National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS (NBLCA) to further our advocacy by participating in “National African American Hepatitis C Action Day”. We look forward to bringing the campaign to residents of Oakland, CA!
The campaign is a community mobilization initiative aimed at reducing the high incidence of HCV infection in black communities by drawing attention to this neglected health disparity and promoting education, testing, and treatment. People in communities of color are encouraged to visit testing centers and be screened for HCV infection—a silent killer that, if left undetected, can lead to life-threatening liver disease, including liver cancer.
