Youth Programs & Services
Roots offers programs & services tailored to young people in Oakland through Roots’ Young People’s Wellness Center (YPWC)! YPWC provides free medical, behavioral health, and health navigation services, as well as supportive groups, leadership development, paid apprenticeships, and educational groups for young people age 13 to 26. The YPWC team is providing a variety of services tailored to young people in several key locations:
Clinical services. Open access clinical services tailored to young people every Wednesday and Thursday from 1-5pm, 7272 MacArthur Blvd., Oakland. 510-916-5825 | [email protected]
NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED. Confidential STI & HIV testing/ treatment, birth control, pregnancy tests, substance use treatment, talk therapy & MORE. Parent/guardian not required.
Behavioral health services. Roots YPWC team of compassionate professionals specializes in providing tailored youth mental health services, including:
- Individual Therapy Sessions
- Group Therapy Support
- Walk-in services
We provide our youth behavioral health services at the following locations:
- Young People’s Wellness Center (ages 13-26) -7272 MacArthur, Oakland CA walk-in on Weds & Thurs afternoons; M-F by appointment
- Covenant House – 200 Harrison St, Oakland, CA two days per week in collaboration with shelter
- Armstead Hall – 7830 MacArthur Blvd. Oakland, CA 94605 walk-in services at Kickback Friday’s (1st & 3rd Friday each month)
