Equitable COVID Response
The COVID pandemic has disproportionately impacted low-income communities of color in terms of health outcomes as well as economic consequences. Death disparities for African Americans continue to widen. Roots and its partners advocate for science-based COVID mitigation measures, COVID policies that protect the most likely to be harmed, low-barrier access to health and economic resources, and continued focus on health disparities even as other communities “move on.” We collaborate with leaders and stakeholders, and have successfully advocated for continued protections throughout this health crisis.
