Clean360 East Oakland Makes History on Grand Opening Day

Clean360 celebrated the opening of its third retail store on February 2nd, 2017.  New and loyal customers patronized the latest Roots Community Health social enterprise and participated in hourly gift basket raffles.  The smell of delicious bar-b-que overtook the outside air as customers shopped inside the new store and explored unique soap scents. Clean360’s third retail store, located at the Roots Community Health headquarters in East Oakland, boasts an extensive line of natural bath and body care products.

City officials welcomed the new retail store to the community of East Oakland.  During the Clean360 Grand Opening Ceremony, Alameda County Supervisor Nate Miley was on hand to deliver sentiments of good wishes and warm regards related to the outstanding work Roots has been doing in the community addressing workforce development.  Justin Rausa of Assemblymember Rob Bonta’s office presented Roots founder CEO Noha Aboelata, MD, and COO Aquil Naji, with a Certificate of Recognition to commemorate this historic event.  Clean360 is the first bath & body care social enterprise of its kind in East Oakland to train, employ and empower its participants to pursue gainful employment.

The excitement in the air was not only generated by the offering of natural bath and body care products to East Oaklanders but the employment opportunities that the store opening has created for the community.  Roots Community Health is a leader in providing trade skills for priority populations within East Oakland, incorporated within a wraparound healthcare model.  The Emancipator’s Initiative has trained and prepared participants for workforce success.  Emancipator participant De’Lante Glenn, proudly explains, “I’m grateful to be working at Clean360 during such a special time of growth and expansion.  The training that I’ve undergone is invaluable.”
