Tameika Byrd, MBA

Tameika Byrd serves as the Director of Human Resources and Staff Development at Roots Community Health, bringing over 15 years of experience in fostering inclusive workplaces and supporting organizational growth. Raised in an underrepresented community in West Pittsburg, California, she is deeply committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in every aspect of her work.

Throughout her career, Tameika has navigated various HR domains, including recruitment, employee relations, training and development, and strategic HR planning. Her journey has been shaped by overcoming challenges unique to her background, fueling her determination to create equitable opportunities for all. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and an MBA in human resources. Additionally, she is a certified Notary and holds a California Law HR Specialty certification from SHRM.

Tameika is known for her ability to cultivate strong relationships across all levels of an organization, foster a supportive workplace culture, and implement HR programs that align with organizational values. She is an active member of SHRM, HR Moguls, The Elevate HR Community, HR Girlfriends, and Black in HR. Passionate about mentorship, she actively supports emerging HR professionals, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds.

Outside of work, Tameika enjoys spending time with family, event planning, and exploring new culinary experiences. Committed to continuous learning and growth, she strives to enhance organizational success through effective HR practices and inclusive leadership.
