Sequoia Hall, MPA
Chief of Staff
Sequoia Hall is the Chief of Staff at Roots Community Health, where she works directly with the CEO on the organization’s top priorities and strategic growth, manages the Office of the CEO, coordinates special projects, and serves as the primary liaison between the CEO and all external functions. She will engage across all teams to achieve optimal capacity and increase impact across the organization and the communities we serve.
She was previously a health equity fellow at the California Health Care Foundation, where served on the Improving Access team working to expand the health workforce in areas not well served by the healthcare system so that providers reflect the communities they serve. She also collaborated across the teams and with State agencies to improve health equity for Medi-Cal enrollees by expanding timely access to high-quality, culturally competent care.
Prior to joining CHCF, Sequoia was the Alameda County Health Pathway Partnership program manager for the AC Health Care Service Agency, which aims to increase the diversity of the healthcare workforce. She is founding board member for Comunidades Indígenas en Liderazgo, an Indigenous women-led nonprofit organization, and she previously served on the board of The California Endowment’s East Oakland Building Healthy Communities initiative. Sequoia received a bachelor’s degree in social welfare from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s of public administration from the University of Southern California.
